ADVENTURE RETREATS

Come away with us into the beauty of creation to encounter God and His ridiculously deep love...for YOU. Echo Community’s Adventure retreats invite young adult men and women into an experience that brings them closer to truth through prayer and sacraments, recreation, conversations of eternal significance, and "unplugging" from technology, all in the context of God's gift of creation.

In our chaotic, frenetic, and fast-paced society, we all need the space for real connection, to slow down, and to engage in true and authentic community. ECHO Retreats seek to provide that opportunity.

This experience is for any young adult who feels a desire to wonder, stretch, grow, and experience the MORE that God has created us for.  Join us on the journey into the rugged terrain of our hearts to encounter your Father in a new way.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What will the prayer and content of the retreat be like?
We will have a significant time of personal and silent prayer and reflection each day where you will have the opportunity to reflect on your identity as a son or daughter of God guided by a set of reflections we will provide. Then, later on by our evening camp fires and while hiking, we will enter into conversations of eternal significance!
What are “conversations of eternal significance”?
These are intentional, faith-based discussions in small groups or one-one-one, focusing on life’s big questions. They are conversations that are freeing, give life, build relationships, and orient us to eternity! You’ll know when you're having one ;)
Will there be Mass and confessions during the retreat?
Yes, we’ll celebrate Mass daily and confession will be available throughout the retreat. The Mass will be simple, reverent, and offer a unique way to encounter our LORD in his creation.
How will community be fostered at the retreat?
Community is central to the Echo experience. You’ll share meals, hike, pray, and participate in group conversations and discussions around the campfire. These shared moments encourage authentic friendships rooted in our faith.
What does hiking entail, and do I need experience?
Hiking involves guided walks through Kisatchie’s trails, ranging from 2-5 miles daily, with moderate terrain. No experience is needed but you will want to be doing low level exercise leading up to the adventure; trails are beginner-friendly, and our team will ensure safety to the best of our abilities. Wear sturdy shoes and bring a water bottle.
Will there be campfires?
Absolutely! Each evening, we’ll gather around a campfire for community, sharing about our experience of the day, diving into the reflections we used during personal silent prayer time and pray together. It’s a relaxed time to share experiences, reflect, and obviously enjoy some great campfire smores (hopefully under some beautiful stars)!
Are there showers and toilets at the campsite?
Yes, the campgrounds have clean shower and toilet facilities available for all participants. You’ll have access to these amenities throughout the retreat for comfort and hygiene.
I’ve never camped in a tent before. What should I expect?
Tent camping is simple and fun! We’ll provide tents and all your standard camping gear such as a sleeping pad and sleeping bag. Our staff will already have your tent set up or show  you how to set one up. You’ll sleep on a sleeping pad in a weather-resistant tent. Expect cool December nights, warm layers!
Do I need to bring my own food or cooking equipment?
No, all meals and cooking equipment are provided. We’ll prepare communal meals with dietary options (please inform us of restrictions in advance). You just need to bring a reusable water bottle and any personal snacks.
What should I pack for the retreat?
Pack comfortable hiking clothes, sturdy shoes, a warm jacket, a flashlight, toiletries, and a reusable water bottle. We’ll provide a detailed packing list closer to the date. Avoid bringing valuables or electronics to fully immerse in the experience.
Is the retreat suitable for beginners with no hiking or camping experience?
Absolutely! The retreat is designed for all levels, with beginner-friendly hikes and full support for tent camping. Our team will guide you every step of the way to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
What if I have physical limitations or health concerns?
Please inform us of any limitations or health concerns when registering. We’ll work to accommodate your needs if possible, and a first-aid-trained staff member will be on-site. If your physical limitations or health concerns are too severe for this experience, we will let you know before confirming your spot.
how do I get to the campsite?
A detailed map, dropped pin for map navigation, and instructions will be sent out to the entire group prior to the retreat, so be on the lookout for that!
