WHAT IS A BROKEN & BELOVED RETREAT?
Broken & Beloved aims to provide Theology of the Body catechesis and evangelization in a retreat setting for women affected by the breakdown of intimate relationships and family life. The retreat offers an invitation to a Sacramental and communal healing journey, highlighting women's dignity in Christ in all circumstances. We contemplate the mystery hidden in God before time began, revealed through our bodies as male and female and fulfilled in Jesus' incarnate invitation to relationship with Him, offered to all women of broken circumstances, confirmed in the Gospel, and unveiled through the writings of Saint John Paul II. Due to the sensitive and intimate nature of these retreats, all efforts are made to ensure the privacy of all participants, and space is limited to keep the atmosphere of the retreat small and intimate. FAQS
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE INTENSITY OF THE RETREAT?
Some of the broken situations that women experience may range in intensity and although we provide discretion for all, sometimes some of the women feel more comfortable sharing more about their situations than others in the group. Some issues that may come up include intimate relationship issues, separation, divorce, infidelity, deception, abuse (spousal, intimate partner, or childhood), violence, traumatic injury, a marriage that needs healing, sex addiction, family wounds, terminal or chronic illness, multi-layered traumas, broken family life, abandonment, same-sex attraction or transgender issues, pornography, sex trafficking, incest, grieving, abortion, miscarriage, widowhood.
IS THIS OPEN TO CATHOLIC WOMEN ONLY?
Broken and Beloved is open to any woman desiring to attend. We welcome those of all faith traditions. Theology of the Body is effective as a universal language, providing fundamental answers to the question, "What does it mean to be human?"
WHAT TO EXPECT?
You can expect times of teaching and formation, intimate prayer, daily Mass, Adoration, opportunities for confession and counseling, free time, silence, and an incredible community of women to journey with. You can also expect that whatever is shared, and even the registrant list, will remain confidential.
WHAT ARE THE OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS LIKE?
Each retreating will have their own bed, but we cannot guarantee single rooms. Bathrooms will be shared among the retreatants. The accommodations are safe and comfortable. There are over 20 acres of fields, trails, and wooded areas, as well as a beautiful pond. There is space to spread out, have intimate conversation, and an on-site chapel with the Blessed Sacrament present.
DO YOU ACCOMMODATE DIETARY NEEDS/RESTRICTIONS?
We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions, but if there is something that we cannot accommodate for a particular reason, we will communicate that to you ahead of time.
